BARCELONA – I covered up my shoulders when we visited the city’s cathedral. Then my cell phone started ringing.

Major tourist faux pas!

The view on top of St. EsglÃ©sia Cathedral Basilica is amazing!

I also loved the violin music outside of the church.

#kvpvegas Let your freak flag fly! Loved watching @shrekthemusicaltour at @smithcenterlv. It’s an adorable musical with Shrek, Princess Fiona, talking Donkey and a band of fairytale misfits.

This was a sensory inclusive show where audience members could wear headphones. My kid enjoyed the show with headphones because he wasn’t startled by unexpected crescendos and sounds.

Staff workers sat behind us and translated the show into sign language.

It’s a wonderful story that celebrates individuals, differences and they’re right to live freely.

The Venetian has maintained its elegant charm in the lobby and in its recreation of the Venice canals. But I was sad to see the canal water drained because of the F1 race from last weekend. Thanks Formula 1 😔

📸 Also love the historical plaque marking the spot where the Rat Pack (Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, Sammy Davis Jr., Peter Lawford, and Joey Bishop) snapped an iconic photo in front of the Sands Hotel.

🎲 Las Vegas will always reinvent itself, but it doesn’t forget the legends, like the legacy of the Rat Pack.

#kvpvegas Autumn leaves at Floyd Lamb Park at Tule Springs. Geese and ducks swam in the ponds. A pair of racers in turkey outfits walked away from the Turkey Rock race route.

Park workers stock the ponds with rainbow trout. According to the state wildlife department, this area was used as a private guest ranch in the 1930s.
The Las Vegas Sun reports prospector Jacob Goumond bought the property in the 1940s and turned it into a divorcee ranch. Like in the 1939 film The Women with Joan Crawford and Norma Shearer, people would come to this ranch and stay for six weeks to qualify for Nevada residency. As Nevada residents, they could file for quickie divorces.
This history is interesting because most people know Las Vegas is a city that hosts quick weddings on and off the Strip.

#kvpvegas Vegas is still cleaning up after its Las Vegas Grand Prix of the Formula 1 Races. We drove by portions of the stands and race course at various stages of dismantling. This part of the 3.8 race route is off of Harmon Ave and Koval Lane, home to the Grand Prix Plaza (@grandprixplaza). In addition to VIP spaces, this is also the pit building which houses garages for each racing team.

Starting next year - it will have F1-inspired go karts for the public as well as an F1 museum exhibit. They also plan on opening a food spot with racing simulators.

#kvpvegas Running makes the turkey taste better. Ran the Turkey Rock 5K with my family this morning at Floyd Lamb Park in Las Vegas. (My kid decided to sleep in)

I loved running by the beautiful autumns leaves. We also had a view of snow on Mt. Charleston.

Grateful I can still do running events in my 40s.

#kvpkitchen My house smelled liked fried pork belly this weekend. We made sisig in our Ninja. We chopped up the pork belly chunks and made lumpia sisig.

I still had leftover filling. I added Shanxi knife-cut noodles to a pan of sizzling sisig. Following a @bitesized.ph recipe, we whisked eggs, Parmesan cheese and olive oil. I mixed the sauce with about 1/2 cup of noodle water.

And we had bowls of delicious Crispy Sisig Carbonara. I was so happy with our creamy, cheesy sauce that didn’t use any cream or flour. The pasta and sauce was the perfect flavor pairing with sisig.

🍝 I loved Lumache alla Norcina with savory chunks of sausage and black truffle. The grana padano crema was delicious and I kept scooping it up with white truffle garlic bread, which was from the Happy Hour menu.

#kvpinmybelly Date night at @buckandrider_gilbert. While we waited for our table, a server took our drink orders. I loved seeing my Old Fashion waiting for me at the table.

I went with the @hollanderanddekoning mussels. It’s served in a delicious white wine broth with delicious chunks of Spanish chorizo. It comes with sourdough slices, but I still needed more bread. I dipped pillow-soft dinner rolls into the broth.
