P.S. Mommy said I am not allowed to date, but I am not listening to her. She didn’t listen to her dad and become a nun. Mommy has a boyfriend, and so I can too. No other bear will do, Andre is the bear for me.

#kvpinmybelly Date night at @buckandrider_gilbert. While we waited for our table, a server took our drink orders. I loved seeing my Old Fashion waiting for me at the table.

I went with the @hollanderanddekoning mussels. It’s served in a delicious white wine broth with delicious chunks of Spanish chorizo. It comes with sourdough slices, but I still needed more bread. I dipped pillow-soft dinner rolls into the broth.

#kvpkitchen Monday night dinner with roasted Mediterranean-style chicken thighs. I used a recipe by @majasrecipes. I added sliced baby potatoes under the chicken, and they soaked up the tasty chicken marinade of lemon juice, tomato paste, parsley, garlic powder, and more.

It took me less than 45-minutes to put it all together. We served it over rice.

#kvpaz One of my favorite autumn traditions is watching Tim Burton’s Nightmare Before Christmas. This year, we watched it with the @phoenixsymphony. It was a wonderful experience, watching the film with a live performance of Danny Elfman’s score. My kid bopped along in his seat as Jack Skellington celebrated Halloween and explore Christmas Town.

It was awesome to musicians dressing up for the show - we spotted unicorns, masquerade masks, astornauts, and Squid Game contestants in their green tracksuit uniforms.

#kvpaz We loved visiting @phxart for #FirstFriday. Last night, the celebrated Día de los Muertos.

💀 🏵️ @craftychica and @cecilycanophotography created a beautiful ofrenda in the courtyard. I really appreciated their talk about the Christian and Indigenous traditions that end up in this tribute to loved ones. They pointed out that this is a 3,000 tradition, so the Coco movie didn’t have to make such a big deal of placing a loved one’s photograph on the altar. But we still love the Coco movie.

🎨 Our docent gave us a tour of Latin art in the museum. There’s something sad about the Our Lady of Guadalupe paintings, which have no record of the Indigenous artist or the production date. Even though the art lives on - beyond the 18th century - the memory of the artist is forgotten.

💀 💃🏽 Also enjoyed dancing with the larger-than-life puppets by @culturalcoaz.

#kvpaz We made it back to @mothernaturesfarm_official for a pumpkin patch adventure.

And there’s so much to do here! My kid enjoyed riding pedal cars around hay bales and exploring the empty cottages. There were goats, donkeys, and other farm animals waiting for food and available for petting.

The weather was a little warm, up in the 90s. Still, this is a fantastic place for an autumn tradition.
